For more than ten years Rucka Manor House has been a home to Rucka Artist residency. Thanks to efforts of many many people the former tuberculosis hospital became an art space loved and appreciated by both Latvian and foreign artists and guests. Over the ten years it has been home to numerous artist residencies, summer schools, workshops, events for children and youngsters, concerts and other events.
However maininting this beautiful old building has always taken a lot of work and financial resources. With growing prices for energy resources and construction for us, as a cultural NGO, maintaining it became more and more challenging. In 2022 we made a decision not to apply for a call for the next 10 years’ period organised by Cesis municipality.
We are now on the path to re-opening our activities in 2024 in a different part of Latvia.
