The Søren Kierkegaard Park, 2021

On the 14th of May 2021 the artist Albert Allgaier locked the gates of Rucka park for an indefinite period of time. For the duration of the performance the name of the park was changed to Søren-Kierkegaard-Park.

The work is based on the anecdote of the philosopher Søren Kierkegaard always returning back home on his daily walk just as his favorite park came in sight – because to his mind reality can never surpass expectation.

Getting here by car

Use Muižas 5 for navigation apps, enter the park through Muižas street, then drive up to the left side of the Rucka manor.

Getting here by public transport

From Cesis Bus terminal and Railway station cross the train tracks next to the station and walk to your right up the Kaļķu street until you reach Rucka park, where you can follow the Parka street to find the Rucka manor.
